On pattern of ‘Kargil House’, People demand ‘Chenab Valley Ghar’ in Srinagar, Jammu
People across the Chenab Valley today demanded the 'Chenab Valley Ghar' in capital cities of Jammu and Srinagar for them.
Scores of residents of twin districts of Chenab region including Kishtwar and Doda said that government should build temporary residential accommodation for the people of Chenab Valley like it has established "Kargil House" for the people of Kargil and Ladakh, in Srinagar and Jammu.
They said that Chenab Valley is very far flung and the people from this region regularly move to Jammu or Srinagar for several assignments where in absence of any government accommodation for them, they have no option but to stay in hotels.
They said that Chenab Valley have more than 8 legislators including one minister in the present government. “These legislators and the minister should have submitted proposal to Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, for the allotment of residential accommodation for Chenab Valley people.”
They demanded that the government residential building exclusively for the Chenab Valley people should be made available in both capital cities of the state so that the poor people from the region could live there during their visit to these cities.
